Zaspo Janko

I didn't find any information about the origin of the tune Zaspo Janko. I've only found that this song comes from Croatia (a few talk about Bosnia......) and that Janko-Vic is one of the most spread Serbian surname.

An  English translation of the main verse by Judith Weir, british composer :

BROKEN BRANCHES

Janko slept beneath a poplar
Darling, O my dearest one.
Broken branches all around him,
Darling O my dearest one.
